ACT OF COLLECTIVE WORSHIP
At Acresfield Primary School collective worship involves the whole school for three days in the school week. For the other two days, a roundabout assembly and infant and junior hymm practices take place.
Clergy from the Upton Council of Churches visit school on a regular basis to take assemblies.
The main Christian festivals are observed in the form of celebrations eg Harvest Festival, Carol Service, Nativity Play, and an Easter Celebration.
The regulations of the 1944 Education Act (unchanged in the 1988 Act) which allows
'pupils or teachers to withdraw on the grounds of conscience from the collective act of worship' is complied with.
A full copy of our Act of Collective Worship policy is available for inspection from the headteacher.
COMPLAINTS' PROCEDURE
Our complaints' procedure states:
'The governors of Acresfield Primary School believe that the principle of making every effort to reach agreement by informal discussion should apply ....' as emphasised in the Cheshire County Council arrangements.
Initially, if you have a cause for concern regarding your child's progress, please discuss it informally with the class teacher. Following this, approach the headteacher at a mutually convenient time. If you feel there is a need for a full discussion, please arrange to make a formal appointment with the headteacher.
Under Section 23 of the Education Reform Act, 1988, Local Education Authorities were required to establish a complaints' procedure for matters of concern, relating to provision of the curriculum and collective worship. A copy of the procedure is kept at school.
